Former Canisius rower Amanda Engelbach-Schafer (Kielich) '14 is in her first season on the Canisius rowing coaching staff. Engelbach-Schafer was hired to the staff in Sept. 2021.
A four-year letterwinner from 2011-14, Engelbach-Schafer was a member of three first-place finishes, two of which came at the Black Rock Cup in 2012 (varsity eight) and 2013 (second varsity eight). Overall, Engelbach-Schafer accrued 10 top-three finishes during her rowing career with the Griffs.
“I'm so excited to be rejoining the Canisius Rowing community and giving back to the program that was so monumental to my college experience,” Engelbach-Schafer said. “I look forward to a fun and fast year with the next generation!”
Engelbach-Schafer graduated from Canisius in 2014 after double majoring in french language and culture and in european studies. She also earned her paralegal certification from Canisius in October 2014.
After spending seven years in the legal field serving as a legal assistant and paralegal, Engelbach-Schafer left the law industry and became a dental assistant in the spring of 2021 at Aesthetic Associates Centre.
