2002: Made 32 starts, mainly at the designated player position... Hit .236 while collecting 12 RBI... Hit her lone home run against St. Francis (Pa.) (4/5).

2001: Saw action in 38 games with 30 starts... Batted .235 with three home runs and 12 RBI... Second on the team in triples with two.

Before Canisius: Four-year letterwinner as catcher at Maryvale... All-Western New York First-Team in 1999 and 2000... Fourth-Team all-state selection... All-ECIC award winner... Also lettered in soccer and basketball.

Personal: Majoring in psychology with a minor in zoo biology and animal behavior, Melissa is the daughter of Mehrl and Linda King... Volunteers her time at the Buffalo Soup Kitchen... Has two sisters, Margaret and Stephanie... her mother also attended Canisius College.
