Biography

2008:  Became the fifth pitcher in school history to be named the MAAC’s Pitcher of the Year after she posted a 20-3 record with a 2.24 ERA and 132 strikeouts... Became the fourth pitcher in school history, and the first since 2000, to win 20 games in a season... Was honored to the NFCA Louisville Slugger All-Mid Atlantic Region Second Team... Was one of 44 pitchers in the nation to win 20 games... Made 32 appearances and started a team-high 29 games where she pitched in 147 innings... Led the league in wins and starts, ranked second in opponent batting average (.195) and third in ERA, strikeouts and batters struck out looking (34)... Went 8-0 against MAAC teams during the regular season... Shutout UMBC over four innings and struck out four to earn her first win of the season March 2... Went 2-0 while giving up four runs on 10 hits to go with 15 strikeouts in 14.2 innings of work at the MAAC Tournament... Struck out a career-high 10 batters in a complete-game win over Stetson March 21... Was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team... Was also voted to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District I First Team.

2007:  Pitched in 25 games, making nine starts... Went 5-6 with six saves and a 3.33 earned run average in 73.2 innings of work... Earned her first save of the season after tossing two scoreless innings in Canisius’ win over Southern Utah March 11, where she teamed with Courtney Piar for a combined no-hitter ... Allowed one run over five innings where she struck out five in her first win of the season Feb. 24 against Norfolk State... Struck out a season-high seven in 6.1 innings of work against Southern Utah March 9 ... Went 1-2 with a 2.50 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 14 innings against MAAC schools... One of six Canisius players to receive MAAC All-Academic honors.

2006:  Appeared in 26 games, making 10 starts... Pitched four complete games... Posted a 7-8 record in the circle with a 2.82 ERA in 87 innings of work... Struck out 78 batters, with opponents hitting .218 off her in her rookie season... Pitched two innings of scoreless ball in relief against Princeton for her first college victory... Struck out a season-high eight batters in 6.2 innings of work against Elon then matched that number with 8 Ks against Purdue... Scored her first collegiate save against Iona at home after striking out a batter in one inning of action... Honored for her work in the classroom by being named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete team.

Before Canisius:  Won two varsity letters as a pitcher at Live Oaks High School, where she played for head coach Barry McDonnell... Was named league MVP, while also earning all-league and all-tournament honors... Won four varsity letters as a volleyball player and was named league MVP two times.

Personal: The daughter of Phil and Carolyn Bowers, Juliette is majoring in psychology at Canisius... Has two siblings, a sister Nicole and a brother, Casey... Lists photography as a hobby.
