2005: Appeared in 19 games, making three starts... Led the team with three saves... Pitched in 43.2 innings where opponents posted a .190 batting average against her ... Struck out 57 batters, which was second-best on the team... Allowed one run on three hits in three innings of work to gain her first win of the season against Niagara at home... Tossed five scoreless innings against Fairfield in the MAAC Tournament en route to her third win of the season... Pitched 1.2 innings against eventual national champion Michigan in the Griffs’ NCAA Tournament game.
2004: Pitched in just eight games before being missing the rest of the season with a back injury... Made two starts and went 0-2 with three saves... Picked up her first career save in the team’s season opening win over Furman... Struck out the side against Niagara at home to collect her second save of the season... Gave up three hits and struck out two in 1.2 innings of work against Siena in her last appearance of the season.
2003: Led the Griffs with a 1.72 earned run average, while posting a 6-11 record in 24 appearances with two shutouts... Tossed 110 innings with 110 strikeouts and 40 walks... Held opponents to a .229 batting average... Recorded first collegiate win, a 1-0 shutout of Campbell... Recorded two 10-strikeout games (vs. St. Francis (NY) and at St. Bonaventure).
Before Canisius: Earned numerous honors at Mount Vernon High School, including all-area, all-league, all-county and all-state... Also played basketball and volleyball in high school.
Personal: The daughter of William Piar and Jennifer Kazimer, Courtney is a communications major at Canisius.
