Caitlin Attfield

Former University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) standout Caitlin Attfield is entering her fourth season with the Golden Griffins. Attfield enters 2022 as a volunteer assistant after serving as a graduate assistant coach on the Canisius softball coaching staff for the first two seasons. Attfield previously served as a student assistant coach at UAB during their 2016-17 season.

A native of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Attfield assists the Golden Griffins with opponent scouting reports and is responsible for motivating student-athletes to work hard to enhance their performance. 
 
Attfield joins the Canisius after a standout career at UAB that saw her become the first Blazer to in program history to be professionally drafted into the National Pro Fastpitch League. Attfield was named to the First Team All-Conference USA three seasons and became the first player in program history to record 300 or more career hits.

Attfield earned her undergraduate degree in kinesiology with a concentrations in exercise science from UAB in 2016. She is currently perusing her master's degree in sport administration and physical education at Canisius.
