After missing most of his freshman season with an injury, Burke returned to the pitch where he earned first team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors three times. In 2002, he was honored as the GLIAC’s Defensive Player of the Year as the Lakers advanced to the Division II Final Four. In the summer of 2001, he played for the West Michigan Edge of the PDL.

Burke owns a USSF B coaching license and currently works with the Black Watch Soccer Club and will be in his second year with New York West ODP. Previously, he spent time coaching boys and girls teams in the CA United Club League in Lansing, Mich. He graduated from Mercyhurst in 2002 with his degree in elementary education, and currently lives in Cheektowaga, N.Y., with his wife Melissa.
