Scott Godfrey

Scott Godfrey  is entering his third year as the assistant director of athletic performance at Canisius. In his current assignment, Godfrey works with men's lacrosse, women's soccer, men's soccer, rowing, golf, cross country, swimming and diving and softball. 

In his role within the Canisius athletic department, Godfrey provides each indiidual student athlete information and direction with proper exericise programming, and nutritional advice to maximize athletic potential and development. Accountability, energy, effort, character development, and competitiveness are also a focus within the department. Our goal as a division I college is to win conference and NCAA championships.

Prior to joining the Canisius staff, Godfrey worked in Strenghth and Conditioning at Sacred Heart. During that stint he worked closley with the Graduate Exercise Science and Nutrition department to develop competitive division I athletes.

Prior to Sacred Heart, Godfrey Spent a year working with Competitive Edge strength and conditioning. At Competitive Edge, he was tasked with educating and assisting athletes in reaching the highest level of play possible by maximizing their athletic potential using strength and conditioning. 

While working with Competitive Edge, Godfrey also worked with Temple Physical Therapy in New Haven, Connecticut. With TPT he worked individually helping to provide rebhabitlitation care and treatment through innovative and scientific approaches, while providing specific individual plans for each patient. 

A 2010 graduate of Springfield College Godfrey earned his bachelors degree in biology.  In 2014 he earned his masters degree in exercise science and nutrition with a concentration in human perforamnce from Sacred Heart. He is currently earning a masters degree in business administration from Canisius.
