Biography

Needs nine ground balls to move into sixth place on the Griffs’ all-time list and 16 to take over fifth place.

2004: Led the team with 76 ground balls... Ranked ninth in the nation in ground balls-per-game with 5.85... Named Second Team All-MAAC after leading MAAC in ground balls with 76... Recorded a season-high 12 ground balls in 16-10 win over VMI (3/13)... Named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.

2003: Recorded 73 ground balls, placing second on the team... Averaged 5.2 ground balls-per-game, ranking 20th in the country... Named to the MAAC All-Academic Team... Registered a career-high three assists.

2002: Led the Griffs in ground balls with 46... Played in all 13 games... Scored first collegiate goal and added an assist in win over Siena (4/28)... Led team in penalties with nine.

Before Canisius: Played lacrosse for five years at Holy Cross, earning three letters for the Raiders... Named team MVP after the 2000 season... Also played ice hockey.

Personal: The son of JoAnne Vinc, Matt is a physical education major at Canisius.
