Ethan Thomson

Former Canisius long-stick midfielder Ethan Thomson was named an assistant coach with the Golden Griffins program in July 2025.
 
“We are excited to welcome Ethan to the coaching staff after his career in a Canisius uniform,” Canisius head coach Mark Miyashita said. “Ethan’s passion and drive will help to mentor our younger players as they transition to the collegiate game and his journey as a student-athlete will serve him well in this capacity. I look forward to having the opportunity to continue working with Ethan in this new role as his lacrosse journey transitions from player to coach.”

 
• Appeared in 58 games over his four seasons in a Canisius uniform (2022-25).  
• Took part in all 31 games played during his junior and senior seasons.
• Finished his Canisius career with 76 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers.
• He also pitched offensively, chipping in a goal and an assist.
• Three-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree (2023, 2024, 2025)
• Four-year letterwinner at John Carroll high school for coach Don Reynolds
• Member of Looneys Lacrosse Club


 
• Native of White Hall, Md.
• Received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Canisius in May 2025.
