2008

• Took seventh at the Little Three (20:15)
• Posted a 26th-place finish at the Duquesne Duals (20:17) and was 65th at the MAAC Championships (24:34)
• Named to the MAAC All-Academic Team for the second consecutive season
• Inducted into the DiGamma Honor Society, an organization comprised of “men and women for others” who distinguish themselves working for the advancement of the College, and who provide exemplary service on behalf of students and alumni

2007

• Honored in the 2007 MAAC All Academic Team with a 3.87 GPA
• Competed in eight races for the Griffs
• Scored 107th of 240 runners with a personal best of 20:01 at the University of Albany’s Cross Country Invitational in Albany, N.Y.

2006

• Raced four times for the Blue and Gold
• Recorded her career-best time of 20:25, which placed her 74th at the National Catholic Championships in South Bend, Ind
• Placed 35th with a time of 21:03 at the Seawolves Invitational in Sunken Meadow, N.Y.

Before Canisius

• Won five varsity letters at Orchard Park High School for head coach Ted Washburn
• Served as a captain for the cross country program
• A four-time state meet competitor, Nowak took part in the Federation Meet twice
• Placed fourth at the Section VI Class AA meet in 2004 with her time of 19:54
• Also registered a top-10 finish at the New York state Class AA event
• Won a total of seven letters as a member of the Orchard Park indoor and outdoor track and field programs
• Named a Nike Indoor Championship All-American as well.

Personal

• The daughter of Richard and Lisa Nowak, Jess is majoring in biology at Canisius
• Her father, uncle and grandmother all attended Canisius
• Has one younger brother, Troy
• Lists playing guitar and gymnastics as her hobbies.
