Biography
2007: Beat his previous career best with a 26:59 at the University of Albany Invitational in Albany, N.Y., scoring 76th out of 228 runners...Competed in five meets for Canisius...Placed fourth at the Little Three Championships in Buffalo, N.Y. to aid Canisius in a first place score.
2006: Ran in five races for the
Griffs... Recorded his career best time of 27:11 and placed 63rd at the
Disney Cross Country Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla...Placed 38th with
a time of 27:43 at the MAAC Championships in Riverdale, N.Y... Placed
36th with a time of 29:27 at the UB Stampede Invitational.
2005:
Was the Griffs’ top finisher in the first three events of the year...
Placed 13th at the Great American Cross Country Festival with his time
of 27:04, which was his season-best time... Placed 79th overall at the
National Catholic Championships in South Bend, Ind., in his first
collegiate meet... Posted a 10th place finish at the Le Moyne
Invitational with his team-best time of 28:35.
Before Canisius:
Won four varsity letters in cross country and track and field at
Phoenixville High School... Won the Cross Country Coaches Award in 2003
and 2004... Was an all-conference runner in 2002, 2003 and 2004... Won the
conference championship in the 3,200-meter event as a senior as a
member of the Phantoms’ track and field team... Also won the track and
field team’s Coaches Award as a senior.
Personal: The son
of Steven and Marylouise Castleman, Chris is a childhood education
major at Canisius... Has three brothers, Mike, Alan and Joe.
