Update on Men's Basketball Player Phil Valenti
Below is an update on Canisius sophomore forward Phil Valenti, who left the Golden Griffins' home game against Quinnipiac on Friday night:
Valenti was injured going for an offensive rebound at the 17:21 mark of the second half. He was taken off the Koessler Athletic Center floor and was later transported to a local hospital, where he received an X-ray. The X-ray came back negative, and he will be released from the hospital tonight. His injury has been described as a right ankle joint injury.
Valenti will be re-evaluated by the Canisius athletic department medical staff later this weekend. Matt Reitnour, Canisius assistant athletic director for communications, will provide further updates on Valenti's condition when they are available.
