Study Hall/Tutoring Services

Study Hall
In order to assist student-athletes in achieving optimal academic performance, the Athletic Department provides a Study Hall Program. Study hall is open to all student-athletes and is an opportunity to do academic work at consistent time in a quiet place where tutors are available to answer questions and concerns.

•    Study hall is to be used for course work only.
•    Six (6) hours each week are REQUIRED for:
                • First-semester freshman
           • First-semester transfers
           • Student-athetes with a cumulative GPA of 2.3 or lower
           • Non-qualifiers (must attend one full academic year)
           • Head coaches can require or increase number of hours required FOR ANY REASON. Please speak with your coach               for team requirements and expectations. 

All hours must be completed in the Study/Tutoring Center (Old Main 318) or Tutoring Services (Old Main 315)*
* - Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, study hall hours may also be completed online. Please check with with the Academic Support Services Office to confirm. 

Tutoring Services 
The college offers free tutoring to all Canisius College students. Use this link to view the tutoring schedule. If you do not see a tutor for your subject or availability, please see the Academic Support Services Office (KAC-227) in the Athletic Department to file a request.
