Cross Country Wraps Up National Catholic Invitational Appearance

The Canisius men's and women's cross country teams hit the road for the first time this season as they took part in the National Catholic Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame, Friday in South Bend, Ind.

Participating in the event for the 43rd time in program history, sophomore Nathaniel Fisher was the top finisher for the Griffs, placing 31st with a time of 25:07.3.

The duo of sophomore brothers Jacob Granville (25:32.9/47th) and Daniel Granville (25:45.5/54th), along with junior Adam Kozman (25:46.6/55th), rounded out the Griffs' top four finishers in the men's 8K.

The Griffs men finished with 223 points to place 10th in the event. Notre Dame claimed first place with 15 points, followed by DePaul in second with 120 points.

Sophomore Julia Gullo paced the women's team in the 5K, finishing 60th with a time of 19:32.6. Freshman Emily Priset (19:48.0/76th) and senior Mia Servis (20:22.5/98th) rounded out the top three finishers for the Griffs women.

The Canisius women finished with 352 points to place 13th. Host Notre Dame also won the women's event with 15 points, while DePaul finished second with 79 points.

The Griffs are back in action Oct. 2 as the team travels to Bethlehem, Pa., to take part in the Paul Short Run, hosted in Lehigh.
