Cross Country Releases 2026 Schedule

2026 SCHEDULE

Canisius head cross country/track coach Nick Wilson announced the 2026 cross country schedule on Thursday.

The men's and women's cross country teams will open the season by hosting the Little Three Championships at Delaware Park on Sept. 5. The annual meet features rivals Niagara and St. Bonaventure, with the Golden Griffins serving as host. The Canisius men have won the Little Three Championships in 19 consecutive seasons, while the women's team has claimed the title in 16 of the last 22 races.

Canisius will then travel to South Bend, Ind., for the National Catholic Championships on the campus of the University of Notre Dame on Sept. 18 before competing in the 52nd annual Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa., on Oct. 2.

The Griffs close out the regular season by hosting the 14th annual Canisius Alumni Classic at Delaware Park on Oct. 17.

The 2026 Metro Conference Championships are scheduled for Oct. 31 at Blue Sky Sports Complex in Middletown, N.Y. Canisius will then compete at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Nov. 13 at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y., hosted by Hofstra.
