Rowing Secures MAAC Boat of the Week Sweep

Three Canisius boats were named to the Jersey Mike's MAAC Boats of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon.

At the Knecht Cup, the Varsity 4+ shell finished at the 9:27.35 mark, but fell just short of qualification for the semifinal.

In the same race, Canisius saw the 2V8 boat tally a third-place finish in their heat at 7:46.41, qualifying for the petite final on Sunday morning, where the Griffs notched a fourth-place result at 7:31.1.

The Varsity 8+ boat rounded out the weekend as they finished with a time of 7:33.93 which was good for fourth place in the heat, qualifying for the semifinals. The boat posted a sixth-place result in the semifinal heat at 7:48.49, qualifying them for the second petite final on Sunday. In the second petite final, the Griffs clocked a 7:02.97 finish, which was good enough for third place.

The three awards mark the second time this season that the Golden Griffins have swept the conference field.
