Maya Galko scored late in the second half to lift Buffalo to a 1-0 victory over Canisius in intercollegiate women's soccer action Wednesday at UB Stadium.
The Golden Griffins dropped to 1-1-1 on the season. The Bulls, meanwhile, improved to 2-0-1 on the young season.
The first shot of the game did not come until the 18th minute when Buffalo's Kelly Severini missed high.
The first half ended at a 0-0 deadlock with Griffs goaltender Jordan Spencer making two saves.
Canisius tested Bulls goaltender Lexie Thompson for the first time in the game at 56:30 with a shot from the foot of junior Mia Iacona.
Junior Skylar Cornell registered a pair of chances in the 66th minute, but could not get the ball past Thompson.
The Bulls broke the scoreless deadlock at the 73:04 mark when Galko scored off of a corner kick that would deflect off Spencer and the post into the net. After originally being ruled no goal, the officials determined that the ball crossed the goal line.
