Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Griff Weekend Set for Sept. 27-29

The Canisius athletic department and the University's office of alumni engagement announced today that the formal induction ceremony for the 59th class into the Canisius Sports Hall of Fame will be held on Friday, Sept. 27 as part of the University's inaugural Griff Weekend.
 
In June, Canisius announced that Amanda (Cavo) Bevilacqua '09 – women's basketball, Caren Jachimiak '80 – women's basketball and volleyball, Sean Jamieson '11 – baseball, Samantha Good '13, MS '16 – volleyball, Josh Heidinger '10 – hockey, Megan Oosting '12, MS '14  – women's lacrosse, Kelly Reinwald '12 – women's soccer and the 1993-96 men's basketball teams were voted into the Canisius University Sports Hall of Fame. Additionally, Canisius graduate and long-time athletic department supporter John A. Christiano '57 was named this year's recipient of the Rev. Paul J. Dugan, S.J., '45 Award, an honor that recognizes individuals for their significant contributions to Canisius athletics.

The formal induction ceremony for the Canisius Sports Hall of Fame will be held Sept. 27 from 6-9 p.m., at the Montante Cultural Center. This event is by invitation only. Anyone interested in attending the induction ceremony can purchase tickets online by CLICKING HERE.
