Softball Announces 2025 Schedule

Canisius softball head coach Kim Griffin announced the schedule for the 2025 season on a 49-game slate that features 17 road games to begin the campaign, highlighted by four tournaments.

The Golden Griffins open the 46th season in program history at the USC Upstate Tournament February 14-16 in Spartanburg, S.C before heading to Furman for a doubleheader on February 18.

Canisius wraps up February with the Pirate Invitational hosted by Eastern Carolina that will see the Griffs face off against Boston College (Feb. 21), Loyola Chicago (Feb. 22-23) and host Eastern Carolina (Feb. 21-22)

The Blue and Gold play in two more non-league tournaments in March, starting March 7-8 when Canisius travels to State College, Pa. to take part in the Penn State Tournament. A week later the Griffs travel to Baltimore, Md. for the UMBC tournament that will see the Griffs take on Lehigh (March 15), Colgate (March 15-16) and host UMBC (March 16).

Canisius' first games in Western New York are scheduled for March 18 when the team plays a non-league twin bill against St. Bonaventure, followed up by another non-league doubleheader this time against Mercyhurst on March 20.

The Griffs open MAAC play on the road at Mount St. Mary's (March 29-30), followed by a midweek doubleheader at Marist (April 1).

Canisius returns home for a 10 game home stand starting with a three game set against Rider (April 5-6) followed by a midweek doubleheader against Quinnipiac (April 8). The Blue and Gold will then host Iona for three games (April 12-13) before wrapping up their home stand with a midweek twin bill against Saint Peter's (April 15).

The Golden Griffins then head back on the road but stay in Western New York with a three game set against Battle of the Bridge rival Niagara (April 19-20) before heading to Buffalo for a midweek doubleheader (April 23).

The Griffs stay on the road for their final road league games of the season with a three game set against Siena (April 26-27) followed by a midweek twin bill against Manhattan (April 29). Canisius returns home to wrap up the regular season with three games against Sacred Heart (May 2-3).

The 2025 MAAC Softball Championship will be held at the site of the regular season champion, and that event is set to be held May 7-10. The winner of the MAAC Softball Championship tournament earns the league's automatic berth into the 2025 NCAA Division I Softball Championship.
