Men’s Soccer Falls to Cornell Tuesday in Non-Conference Finale

Cornell netted five goals in the first 30 minutes of the match to earn the 8-0 victory over Canisius Tuesday evening in collegiate men's soccer action at Berman Field in Ithaca, N.Y.

With the win, the Big Red increased its record to 5-1-0 on the season while the Golden Griffins closed out non-conference play going 1-3-3.

Cornell opened the scoring in the ninth minute of the contest as Alioune Ka deflected a Kisa Kiingi shot into the bottom left corner of the net, past diving Canisius keeper
William Howard.

Brandon Morales doubled the Big Red's lead in the 14th minute when he received a feed from Emeka Eneli and Alioune following a defensive miscue by Canisius.

Cornell added a trio of insurance markers in the 24th, 27th and 30th minutes, courtesy of Kiingi, Eneli and Connor Drought, respectively, to close out the first-half scoring. Morales and Ka added their second goals of the match in the second half.

• Howard, sophomore Kodie Sarkodie and senior Ryan Dagelman all appeared in the full 90 minutes of action.
• Junior Andrew Vannest made his season debut, appearing in 17 minutes off the bench.
