Severn, Merolle Earn All-MAAC Honors at MAAC Rowing Championships

Sophomores Destiny Severn and Olivia Merolle were named to the All-MAAC Second Team following the MAAC Women's Rowing Championships presented by VisitNJ on Sunday afternoon at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken Township, N.J.

Severn and Merolle were on Canisius' top varsity eight at the MAAC Rowing Championships, which finished second in the Petite Final. Robert Morris placed first in the event with a 7:03.238 time, 4.211 seconds ahead of the Griffs (7:07.449).

The second varsity eight finished fifth in the Grand Final, finishing with a time of 7:27.380. Jacksonville, who claimed victory in all three final events, finished with a 7:00.666 time. Fairfield (7:04.898), Marist (7:06.143) and Stetson (7:23.948) rounded out the top-4.

Canisius' varsity four placed first in the Petite Final with a time of 8:59.750. Manhattan was just under 14 seconds behind the Griffs, while Robert Morris finished 1:39 later.
