Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw Wednesday

Graduate keeper William Howard made four saves en route to a 0-0 tie between Canisius and Siena Wednesday afternoon in MAAC men's soccer action at the Demske Sports Complex.

The Saints moved to 5-3-3 overall and 1-0-2 in league play with the draw while the Golden Griffins earned their first draw in conference play as they saw their record shift to 1-5-4 on the season and 0-2-1 in conference play.

The two teams played a relatively quiet first half of soccer, entering the break tied with seven shots apiece.

Momentum shifted in the final 30 minutes of the match, with the two teams combining to take five shots on target out of nine total attempts.

After sophomore
Ely Sidibe blasted a shot from outside the box that was stopped by Siena keeper Greg Monroe, Howard made his own acrobatic save, leaping to deflect the ball out of play, keeping Thomas Storodegard from getting the Saints on the board.

Game Notes

• Howard made four saves in the shutout, giving him 51 total stops on the season.
