Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Falls to Saint Peter’s

Jordan Jowers assisted on all three of Saint Peter's goals and Dominic Laws recorded a pair of tallies for the Peacocks in a 3-1 victory over Canisius in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's soccer action from the Demske Sports Complex on Monday afternoon.

Following a scoreless first half, Laws opened the scoring in the 47th minute, scoring off a rebound from a shot by Jowers.

Seven minutes later, Lachlan Beever scored to level the game, putting a left-footed strike into the bottom right corner of the goal. The ball, initially crossed into the box by Vince Cancilla, deflected off Inder Thind before Beever was able to get his foot on the ball.

Saint Peter's would add a pair of goals in a span of 6:39 later in the frame to break the 1-1 tie. Laws scored the eventual game-winning goal with his 69th minute tally. Jowers' pass would split a trio of Canisius defenders and Laws would send a dribbling ball into an open net.

Matt Hoyt added an insurance marker for Saint Peter's in the 76th minute after a give-and-go with Jowers set up the tally.

All of the goals scored came while Canisius was down to 10 players, as Riley Wagner was handed a red card in the game's 28th minute.

Tom Crosbie recorded a career-high six saves in the contest, four of which came in the second half.

Thind and Noah Hodson had Canisius' other shots on goal in the first half. Along with Beever's goal in the second half, Matt Spangler had a shot saved off a free kick from 50 yards out before Alessandro Fabiano had his blistering shot saved by Saint Peter's goalkeeper Robby Anderson.

Saint Peter's doubled up on shot attempts in the match, 18-9, with nine reaching the goal. Canisius had five of its nine shots get on target.

Head Coach Dermot McGrane's Postgame Comments
"I thought this was the best performance of the year so far. Playing down a man for 65 minutes isn't easy and I thought our guys worked very hard today."
