Pair of Second Half Goals Lifts Saint Peter’s to Win Over Women’s Soccer

Stephanie Radakovic scored twice in the second half, pacing Saint Peter's to a 2-0 win over Canisius in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Jaroschak Field in Jersey City, N.J.

The Peacocks had the advantage over the Golden Griffins in shot attempts, 16-8, and shots on target, 10-2, during the match.

Sophomore goalkeeper
Jessica Jones made eight saves for Canisius in the loss, one shy of her career high.

Radakovic netted her first goal of the contest on an awarded free kick in the 50th minute of the contest before doubling her goal total in the match in the 75th minute on a penalty kick.

Game Notes

• Freshman Erin Weir had a pair of shots on goal Saturday, marking the first time in her young career she has put multiple shots on net in a match.
• Weir also became the first Canisius freshman field player to lead the team in minutes played since Hope Gilchrist in 2016.
• Jones and freshman Jordan Spencer combined to make 93 saves this season; the most by a tandem since 2015 when Kailee DeFranks and Savannah Jonathan combined to make 119 stops.
• Sophomore Tiani Fonoti finished the season with 24 shots on target in 47 shot attempts. It is the most shots on target and shots attempts since Mallory Illsley had 24 shots on goal in 50 shot attempts during the 2014 campaign.
