Canisius College softball signee Tori Nappo was named
to the 2012 Louisville Slugger/NFCA High School All-East Region First-Team, as
announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Thursday. Nappo is
one of 159 student-athletes from 92 high schools spanning 28 states to earn the
distinguished honor.
Nappo just
completed her senior season at Clarence High School, where she helped the Red
Devils claim the New York State Class AA Championship with a 3-1 victory over
Cicero High School in the state title game. She hit a home run in the
championship game and also went yard in Clarence's 9-5 win over MacArthur High
School in the state semifinal round. She signed her National Letter of Intent
to join the Canisius softball program starting next season, where she will join
her older sister Valorie, who will be entering her junior year for the Blue and
Gold in 2012-13.
All players who were
selected to one of the five first teams in their respective regions (East,
North, South Central, South and West) are now eligible to be named as either a 2012
NFCA First-Team, Second-Team or Honorable Mention High School All-American. The
2012 NFCA High School All-American teams will be announced Tuesday, June 26 on
the NFCA's official website, NFCA.org.
