Swimming Comes Home With Five New School Records

The Canisius College women's swimming and diving team continued to rewrite the school record book Saturday at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship as they left Baltimore, Md. with five new school records. Freshman Jennifer Maddaluno (Acton, Mass.) swam the 1,650-free in 19:21.46 shattering the old record of 19:45.41 set by Mary Colby in 2000.

Junior Megan O'Connor (Lakewood, N.Y.) finished in fifth place in the 1,000-free with a time of 11:04.87. Overall the championships were a success as many swimmers had personal bests in their events. The women finished in eighth place out of 10 schools, while the men finished eighth out of eight.
