After claiming two victories on its California road trip, the Canisius softball team will return to the field for four games at the Mason Invitational in Fairfax, Va. The Golden Griffins will kick off the weekend on Friday with two games against host George Mason and Hofstra, before squaring off with Big Four rival Buffalo on Saturday and facing in-state foe Cornell on Sunday.
 
Canisius News and Notes
• The Griffs are off to their best 13-game start since 2017, with a record of 5-8.
• Canisius earned two victories in the Silicon Valley Classic after defeating North Dakota, 5-0, and Yale, 2-1.
• The Blue and Gold currently rank fourth in the MAAC standings, trailing Monmouth, Manhattan and Marist.
• Senior Lauren Castro (14) and junior Kara Paradowski (18) sit in the top-twenty MAAC players when it comes to batting.
• Several Canisius players hold the conference lead in offensive categories. Castro leads the league in doubles with six on the season. Junior Erin Hufford and Paradowski share the MAAC lead in triples with two apiece.

• Canisius will return to action on March 13-15 when the Griffs play in the Lafayette Ford Lincoln of Fayetteville Showcase, hosted by UNCW at Boseman Field in Wilmington, N.C. The tournament opener against Delaware State begins at 10 a.m. on March 13.
