CANISIUS TRAVELS NORTH FOR RIVALRY GAME AT NIAGARA

• The Canisius College men's basketball team continues its five-game road swing today when the Golden Griffins play at long-time rival Niagara in Lewiston, N.Y.
• The Griffs are 15-9 overall and 8-5 in MAAC play after the team lost on the road to Manhattan Feb. 7 by a score of 67-54.
• Niagara comes into today's game looking to end a two-game skid after losing at Rider Thursday night. The Purple Eagles' last four games have been decided by four points or less.

FAST BREAK POINTS

• Entering today's game after the loss at Manhattan, the Griffs are averaging 78.8 points per contest after each of their four previous MAAC losses.
• Niagara's 66-65 win over Canisius Jan. 27 in the Koessler Athletic Center marked the 71st time a game in this series was decided by five points or less, with Niagara winning 40 of those games.
• Canisius head coach Jim Baron is 13-2 all-time against Niagara and he is 5-1 in games played in the Gallagher Center.
• The Blue and Gold starts today's game ranked second in the country with 9.5 3-point field goals per game.
• Canisius boasts five of the top-11 players in 3-point field goal percentage, led by senior Isaac Sosa, who is shooting a team-best 42.1 percent from behind the arc.

• Junior Chris Manhertz scored a career-high 17 points to go with 15 rebounds in Canisius' loss to Niagara Jan. 27. That was his seventh career double-double and his second double-double effort against the Purple Eagles.

ABOUT THE PURPLE EAGLES

• Niagara comes into this afternoon's game with a 14-10 overall record and a 10-3 mark in MAAC play after the Purple Eagles lost at Rider 72-69 Thursday night in Lawrenceville, N.J.
• Niagara is second in the MAAC in scoring average with 75.1 points per game, which ranks 36th in the nation.
• The Purple Eagles lead the league and rank 13th in the nation in turnover margin at plus 4.1.
• Redshirt sophomore Antoine Mason leads Niagara and ranks 30th in the nation with his team-leading 18.9 points per game scoring average.
• Sophomore guard Juan'ya Green ranks fifth in the league in scoring with 16.3 points per game and his 5.2 assists per game is second-best in the conference.

CANISIUS - NIAGARA SERIES

• This will be the 172nd all-time meeting between these two Western New York schools, with Niagara holding a 96-75 lead in the series.
• Niagara has beaten Canisius in five straight, six of the last seven, nine of the last 12 and 18 of the last 21 games, dating back to Feb. 12, 2003.
• Niagara won the first meeting between these two rivals by the score of 66-65 Jan. 27, in Buffalo. Five of the last 13 games in this series have been decided by three points or less.
• Canisius travels to Lewiston, N.Y., today looking to end a nine-game losing streak in the Gallagher Center. The Griffs' last road win in this series was Nov. 30, 2002 - an 89-69 Canisius victory.
